Found in Ecuador, Peru and Brazil in tropical montane forests at elevations of 140 to 900 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot growing epiphyte with oblong-cylindric, complante, bright green pseudobulbs a single apical, lanceolate, acute leaf that is shortly conduplicate below at the petiole and has 1 to 2 leaf-bearing sheaths enveloping the base of the pseudobulbs and blooms in the late fall and early winter on an erect, axillary, paniculate, lightly fractiflex, 3 3/4" to 12" [9 to 30 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence arising as the pseudobulbs mature.
