Flower Size .1 to .15" [2 to 3 cm] long
Found in Texas USA, Mexico and Guatemala on rocky montane slopes, grassy hills and canyon meadows often around limestoneas a medium to large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial at elevations of 1800 to 2200 meters with an erct stem enveloped by 6 to 9 bladeless, cauline sheaths and carrying 3 to 4, ascensing, dark green, linear-oblanceolate leaves that are present at flowering which occurs in the late summer on an erect, congested, 1.6 to 6.8" [4 to 17 cm] long, 30 to 40 flwoered inflorescence
