Common Name Mrs. Fannin's Disperis [English Farmer in Natal 1800's] - Granny's Bonnet

Found in all of South Africa in deep shade in leaf litter on forest floors at elevations of 1000 to 2100 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing terrestrial with 3, alternate, lanceolate to ovate, dark, glossy green above, dark purple below, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, 6 to 12" [15 to 30 cm] long, 1 to 8 flowered inflorescence
