Found in Panama on the western slopes at elevations of 1800 to 2800 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, carinate, narrowly linear-obovate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the indistinct, conduplicate petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a horizontal, 4.8 to 5.6" " [12 to 14 cm] long, loose, successively few flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul witha tubular floral bract.
