Found in Colombia at elevations of 1900 to 2100 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying an erect, thinly coriaceous, carinate, elliptical-oblanceolate, acute, narrowing below into the indistinct petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a horizontal to descending, 10" [25 cm] long, successively few flowered, racemose inflorescence
