Found in Pichincha Ecuador at elevatrions around 1400 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a very short stem enveloped completely by a fan of imbricating leaf sheaths carrying strap-shaped, acute, articulated below to the leaf sheaths that blooms at most any time of the year on an axillary, to 4" [10 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
