Found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador at elevations of 300 to 1700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with erect stout ramicauls enveloped by 3 loose, imbricating., tubular sheayths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, cuneate below into the conduplicate, sessile base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a single, .15" [3 mm] long, pubescent inflorescence arising from any of the lower nodes on the ramicaul and rhizome and carrying non-resupinate, pubescent flowers
