Found in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of [600] 1100 to 2600 meters as a giant sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial on clay roadbanks with a simple, terete stem carrying 6 to 8, erect-patent, coriaceous, slightly furfuraceous beneath, glabrous above, elliptic-lanceolate, obtusely acuminate, plicate, 5 nerved, tridentate, cuneate below leaves that blooms on a terminal, subpatent to arcuate-decurved, shortly pedunculate, 3.2" [8 cm] long, disitchous, fractiflex, laxly 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence with oval, obtuse to apiculate floral bracts.
