Found in The Choco of Colombia as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with rectangular to ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, gray-green, plicate, petiolate, broadly lanceolate leaves and blooms in the spring on a pendant, basal, to 10" [25 cm] long, inflorescence enveloped almost completely by chartaceous sheaths and carrying a single flower
