Found in Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina as a low elevation hot to warm, strong growing species likes bright light and has Pyriform pseudobulbs that carry [usually] 2, long narrow leaves and blooms on a terminal, 2 to 3 shortly branched, 16 to 18" [40 to 45 cm] long, few to several flowered inflorescence occuring in the summer in the northern hemisphere.
