A medium sized, 2 to 3 leafed, warm to cool growing epiphytic species found in Colombia, Surinam and Venezuela in slightly dense thickets and rainforests with ample air circulation at elevations up to 1650 meters with ovoid-conical, rugose pseudobulbs carrying 1 to 3, apical, strap-shaped leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, 6' [2 meter] long, apical, paniculate or racemose, many flowered, brown or maroon inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb that is much longer than the leaves and carrying very fragrant flowers.
