Common Name Griesbach's Encyclia [German Botanist - Collected in West Indies late 1800's]
Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]
Found in western Cuba in Pinar del Rio on sandy savannahs and palm barrens at sea level to 100 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with ovoid to ovoid-oblong pseuodbulbs carrying 1 to 2, apical, rigid, oblong to obo-oblong, often mucronate leaves that blooms in the later spring on a terminal, erect, 13.2 to 24" [33 to 60 cm] long, simple to paniculate, many flowered inflorescence .
