Found in Minas Gerais Brazil as a natural hybrid between E. kundergraberi E. patens at elevations around 600 meters as a warm to cool growing epiphyte with pyriform pseudobulbs enveloped by evanescent sheaths and carrying 2, apical, rigid, coriaceous, linear, acuminate leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, erect, to 12" [30 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence
