Found in Para' state of northern Brazil in open Amazonian Forests at elevations of 50 to 400 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with ovate, green pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by deciduous, imbricating sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, apical, coriaceous, smooth, oblanceolate, subacute, gradually narrowing below into the clasping base leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, to 7" [17.5 cm] long, to 5 flowered inflorescence.
