Common Name Farges' Epigeneium [English Missionary and Plant Collector China late 1800's early 1900's] - In China Dan Ye Hou Chun Lan

Flower Size 1 to 1.2" [2.5 to 3 cm]

Found in the Chinese Himalayas, Bhutan, Thailand and Taiwan along valleys on rocks or in forests on tree trunks at elevations of 1200 to 1775 as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with .2 to .4" [.5 to 1 cm] between each ribbed, ellipsoid-fusiform, weakly curved pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erct, plicate, single veined, coriaceous, obovate-oblong, obtuse, narrowing below into the petiollste base leaf that blooms in the spring on a racemose, single flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute floral bracts
