Found in Sumatra at elevations around 1200 to 1500 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with cylindrical to pear shaped, longitudinally sulcate, yellow pseudobulbs carrying 2, linear to strap-shaped, minutely bilobed apically, gradually narrowing below into the grooved, petiolate basee leaves that blooms in the winter and early spring on a shorter than the leaves, peduncle 1.2 to 1.68" [3 to 4.2 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence with thin, concave, acute floral bracts and carrying large flowers in proportion to the plant, with reddish green on the outside, yeloow on the inside sepals and a yellow lip blotched with reddish-purple..
