Common Name The Long Pseudobulb Epigeneium

Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]

Found in west Sumatra in upper montane forests at elevations around 2400 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with a branching rhizome enveloped by imbricate, brown cataphyls giving rise to basally swollen, with 1.6 to 2.2" [4 to 5.5 cm] betewen each, cylindrical, blunt, shiny yellow pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 4, elliptic to rather lanceolate, 4 to 5 nerved on each side of the midrib, acute, obliquely bilobed, coriaceous, shiny leaves that blooms in the spring, summer and fall on a terminal, peduncle 6.8" [17 cm] long, provided with 2, tubular, acute, transluscent brown sterile bracts, rachis 3.08" [7.7 cm] long, to 12 flowered inflorescence carrying flowers that are white with a yellow striped with violet patched lip.
