Found in northern Borneo in upper montane forests at elevations around 2100 to 3700 meters as a medium to giant sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with erect stems enveloped by 6 to 9, imbricate, ovate to lanceolate, acute to acuminate, chartaceous, usually purple spotted sheaths and carrying 3 to 5, ensiform, subcoriaceous, asymetrical to unqually bifid, subacute to acuminate, articulated to an imbricate sheath leaves that blooms in the winter summer and fall on an axillary, erect, 8 to 13.6" [20 to 34 cm] long, densely many flowered densely white pubescent on dark purple pink inflorescence with flowers that do not open well.
