Common Name Merrill's Eria [American Botanist in the Philippines 1900's]

Found in the Ryukyus, Taiwan, Borneo, Malayasia, the Philippines, Sulawesi, and New Guinea near rivers at elevations of 60 to 1200 meters as a medium to large sized, hot growing epiphyte with elongate, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying sometimes more than 2, linear-oblong, to oblong-lanceolate, acute, gradually tapering into the conduplicate base leaves that blooms on a terminal, smooth, arching, many flowered, racemose inflorescence with backwards turned bracts and carrying fragrant flowers .
