Found in the Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan, Malaysia, Borneo, Sulawesi, the Philippines and New Guinea in forests on tree trunks at elevations of 500 to 2600 meters as a smal lt omedium szied, hot to cool growing epiphyte with erect pseudobulbs carrying to 4, linear-oblong to oblong lanceoalte, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, to 9.2" [to 23 cm] long, arising from the top of the pseudobulb, to 45 flowered inflorescence and carrying unpleasantly scented flowers
