Found in the eastern Himalayas, Assam, Malaysia and Borneo in mangroves and near rivers on or near to the ground at elevations of 400 to 800 as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte or terretsrial with a noded, cylindrical, apically narrowing pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, widest in the upper part, narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring on a basal, erect, 1.6" [4 cm] long, to 10 flowered inflorescence
