Found in Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo, Java, Sulawesi, Sumatra, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, the Philippines, Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu and Taiwan in lowland and montane primary forests at elevations around 300 to 2150 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with pseudobulbs enveloped completely by 4 to 7 sheaths and carrying 2 apical, linear-lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late summer and early spring on 1 to 2, arching, 12" [30 cm] long, densely many flowered inflroescence inflorescence.
