Found in the Chinese Himalayas Assam, eastern Himalayas, Myanamar, Thailand and Vietnam in evergreen broadleaved forests at elevations of 100 to 1500 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with an erect green stem carrying 6 to 7, green, ovate, oblique, 3 veined abaxially, acute apically, obtuse below inot the petiolate, dilated base leaves with an amplexicaule sheath that blooms in the winter and early spring on an erect, pubescent, 4.8 to 10.4" [12 to 26 cm] long, densely few to several flowered inflorescence with 2 to 5 sterile bracts and lanceolate, pubescent, acuminate floral bracts.
