Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru as a miniature, pseudomonopodial epiphyte or occassional lithophyte in wet, cold, cloud forests at elevations of 2800 to 3150 meters with a leafy, branching stem with ovate-lanceolate, acute, shallowly concave, conduplicate below into the clasping base leaves with a sessile, axillary from the topmost leaf axils, single flowered inflorescence with minute floral bracts that occurs in the fall through spring.
