Found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia at elevations of 1300 to 3200 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with an erect, basally branching stem enveloped completely by imbricating leaf bearing sheaths and carrying linear, acute, narrowing below into the tubular base leaves that blooms in the winter, spring and summer on an erect, terminal, secund, several to many flowered inflorescence.
