Common Name or Meaning The Lake Side Galeandra

Found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela and Brazil at elevations of 150 to 265 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with fusiform, slighly compressed pseudobulbs enveloped below by imbricate, leafless sheaths and medianly becoming leafbearing and carrying distichous, linear to linear-lanceoalte, acuminate, leaves that are articulated to the leaf sheaths below that blooms in the spring on a terminal, racemose, 1 to 6 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and is enveloped below by acuminate bracts.
