Common Name The Menghai Gastrodia [A city in Yunnan China] - In China Meng Ha Tian Ma

Flower Size .2" [5mm]

Found in southern Yunnan province of China in forests margins at elevations around 1200 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with a thickened, somewhat tuber-like, subellipsoid rhizome giving rise to an erect, brown to grey stem with several membraneous sheaths and no green leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, .8 to 2" [2 to 5 cm] long, 3 to 10 flowered inflorescence.
