Found in Borneo, Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi in hill and lower montane forests at elevations below 1550 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte and is another attractive member of this genus with miniature Phalaenopsis-like growth habit, with a terete stem carrying 5 to 6, thick, fleshy, 4", narrwoly lanceolate, very unevenly bilobed apically leaves, that blooms in the late fall on a pendant 1" spikes with triangular, concave floral bracts and bearing a dense head of up to 10 pretty 1/2" blooms, the spreading and rounded greenish sepals and petals are spotted brownish red with a white sack-shaped lip, spotted red on the inside with a white and yellow bearded appendage.
