Found in Guatemala and Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in wet montane forests at elevations of 450 to 1000 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with ovoid, dark green, ridged, pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, erect, plicate, broadly elliptical, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in winter and spring on a pendant, 14" [35 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant, nasturnium scented flowers
