Found in Borneo, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, Malaysia, Sulawesi and Sumatra in lower montane forests at elevations around 1500 to 2100 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial orchid with an upright leafy stem carrying 4 to6, ovate, acuminate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate, broadening base leaf that envelops the stem which blooms on a terminal, 3 to 4.4" [7 to 11 cm] long, 15 flowered inflorescence with leafy, lanceolate, acute floral bracts with successive opening flowers
