Found in India, Sri Lankha, Assam, the eastern Himalayas, Myanamar, Thailand, Hainan & Yunnan China, Vietnam, Japan, Ruyukyu Islands, Taiwan, Java and the Philippines in wet closed forests commonly along humid rocky stream canyons at elevations of 300 to 2000 meters as a medium to giant sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with ascending, suberect stem carrying 3 to 5 basal, obliquely elliptic, ovate-elliptic or lanceolate-elliptic, acuminate, petiolate base leavers that blooms in the late winter and spring on a cylindric, subdensely to laxly many flowered, erect, glabrous below puberulent above inflorescence
