Found in northern and central Taiwan in alpine forests in damp places at elevations of 2000 to 3000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with an ascending stem carrying 4 to 5, well spaced along the stem, abaxially pale green, adaxially green with a white band along the mid-vein, ovate, obtuse apically, rounded below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on a pale green, sparsely pubescent, 2.8" [7 cm] long, subsecund, densely 10 to 15 flowered inflorescence with 2 sterile bracts and ovate-lanceolate, basal ones slightly exceeding the ovary, acuminate floral bracts.
