Found in New Caledonia in humid forests and gallery forests at elevations around 100 to 1000 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an erect stem enveloped by persistent leaf sheth bases carrying narrowly elliptic, unequally obtuse and subemarginate leaves that blooms in the spring on a few, axillary, 1.2 to 3.8" [3 to 9.5 cm] long, 5 to 15 flowered inflorescence
