Found in northern South Africa in rocky highland savannah at elevations of 1200 to 1800 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with about 10, cauline, elliptic to narrowly elliptic, acute leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, laxly 3 to 12 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts
