Common Name Edgar's Habenaria

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found in Zaire, Tanzania and Zambia in wet dambos, tall grasslands and woodlands at elevations of 1500 to 1750 meters as a medium to just large sized, cool growing terrestrial with ovoid to ellipsoid, tomentose tubers giving rise to an erect leafy stem carrying 2 basal, reniform, apiculate or rounded basally, adpressed to the ground becoming bract-like above leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, laxly 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with floral bracts that are much shorter than the ovaries

Similar to H mechowii but the leaves are smaller, the inflorescence carries 2 to 4 flowers, the pedicel is twice as long and the flowers are slightly larger and the inflorescence is 6 to 10" [15 to 25 cm] long.
