Found in Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina at elevations of sealevel to 1100 meters as a large to giant sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying lanceolate, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the later summer and earlier fall on a terminal erect, many flowered inflroescence
