Found in Minas Gerias state of Brazil, French Guiana, Surinam and Venezuela in higher elevation grasslands as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with grass-like, straight, narrow, acute, strongly amplexicaule, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the fall on a narrow, 2 to 10 flowered inflorescence
