Found in Cape Province, Lesotho, Natal, and Orange Free State in grasslands on steep slopes or rock crevasses at elevations of 2300 to 2900 meters in full sun as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with two distant, basal one much larger, sessile, ovate, cordate leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, to 10" [to 25 cm] long, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence
