Found only in eastern South Africa with a summer rainfall season in deep shade as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial orchid with an erect stem carrying 2, the upper smaller, spreading, soft, petiolate base entirely sheathing, lamina sessile, ovate, cordate leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, 6 to 9 flowered inflorescence
