This is a newly discovered [1976] species that comes from India at elevations of 1700-2000 meters and is a cool to warm growing epiphyte. The psuedobulbs are small, smooth and round and the pendant, few to several flowered, racemose inflorescence arises from the base of the psuedobulb and the flowers have a slightly musky smell and have 4 pollina. This plant and Dickasonia verniocosa are both considered to be the same species if so then Dickasonia vernicosa takes precedence.
