Common Name The Loja Kefersteinia {Ecuadorian Town]
Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]
This is a small, cool to warm growing, Peruvian and Ecuadorian, fan-shaped, epiphytic species without psuedobulbs found at elevations of 1700-2000 meters with an abbreviated, clustered stem enveloped by several distichous, imbricate leaf sheaths carrying linear-oblanceolate, subacuter leaves that are articulated into the conduplicate leaf sheaths that has a solitary flower on a 4/5" [2 cm] long, axillary inflorescence holding the flower near the base of the leaves arising in the summer. Kefersteinia lindneri is said to be synomonous with this species buty I feel there are substantial differences to keep them separate.
