Common Name The Japanese Lecanorchis - Hokuriku muyo-ran In China Yu Lan

Found in Japan, Korea and Taiwan in montane forests at elevations around 600 meters as a medium to just large sized, cool to cold growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with an erect, terete, pale brown, glabrous, simple, to 2' [60 cm] long, distant dry black scales, 4 to 9 flowered inflorescence with floral bracts that are much shorter than the pedicels and carrying wide open waxy flowers occuring in the spring.
