Found in Norte de Santander department of Colombia at elevations around 2250 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 10 to 22, ciliate, lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, elliptical-ovate, acute, acuminate, rounded, abruptly contracted below into the petioalte base leaf that blooms in the later spring on a filiform, congested, 1.4" [3.5 cm] long including the .8" [2 cm] long peduncle, successively several flowered inflorescence
