Found in El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador at elevations of 1100 to 3000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect slender ramicauls enveloped by 4 to 6 close fitting, minutely scabrous lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly ellioptical, acute, cuneate basally into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on a subcongested, 2 ranked, to 3.2" [8 cm] long, simultaneously several to many flowered, racemose inflorescence arising from near the apex of the ramicaul.
