Found in Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Venezuela at elevations of 1400 to 2900 meters as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped completely by 3 to 9, infundibuliform, acuminate, longitudinally nerved, muricate and papilose lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical erect, coriaceous, broadly lanceolate, ovate-lanceolate, to elliptic, minutely tridenticulate apically, shortly petiolate below into the base leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, thin, distichous, racemose, subdensely successively single to 12 flowered inflorescence
