Common Name The Red Teardrop Lepanthes

Found in The Dominican Republic in primary forests at elevations around 1100 to 1300 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect to ascending ramicauls enveloped by 5 to 11, articulate, ribbed and microscopically puberulent lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, elliptic to ovate, acute, tridenticulate, conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on 1 to 8, erect, shorter than the leaf, .4 to .72" [1 to 1.8 cm] long, successively single, 1 to 20 flowered inflorescence with echinate, longer than the pedicel floral bracts.
