Found in Venezuela at elevations of 1000 to 2400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 6 to 7, close fitting, dark, microscopically ciliate, lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, suberect, coriaceous, broadly elliptical-ovate, subacute to obtuse, roundly to broadly cuneate and contracted below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer and early fall on a distichous, 1.1" [28 mm] long, loose at the base, congested above, successively flowered inflorescence arising either on the top or the bottom of the leaf.
"L gin-ganii differs from L samacensis by its larger size, much longer pedicels, a lip with the blades slightly concave and not thickeneed and a minute and slender appendix witha tuft of cilia at the tip, instead of an appendix that is large, thick and ovoid." Luer & Thoerle 2010
