Found in Vietnam and Hainan, southern Yunnan and Sichuan China in humid, mossy, mixed and coniferous forests at elevations of 500 to 2100 meters as a shady, hot to cool growing epiphyte on mossy branches or lithophyte on steep rocky river slopes on mossy limestone rocks or terrestrial in shallow soils with an elongate pseudobulb carrying a few leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on a 12" [30 cm] long, few flowered, racemose inflorescence.
