Found in Madagascar in humid evergreen forests at elevations around 1500 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with oval, small, thick pseudobulbs enveloped basally by white sheaths, the uppermost 2 being leafbearing lanceolate-acute, plicate leaves that blooms in the late summer on a 5" [12.5 cm] long, longer than the leaves, loosely 6 to 7 flowered inflorescence with 1 to 3 bracts and a small, acute floral bract.
