Found in Madagascar in humid, lichen rich evergreen forests at elevations of 700 to 2000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with 2 pseudobulbs, the oldest obliquely diverging and the younger enveloped by 3 to 4, elliptical to oval elliptical, obtus to apiculate, compressed and rounded basally, gradually narrowing below intothe clasping, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, to 6" [to 15 cm] long, 6 to 12 flowered inflorescence
